MESSAGE FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Hello. My name is Barton Charlip and I am the Executive Director of the Student Den in Boca Raton, Florida. After years of planning, I am excited to tell you all about the Student Den.
I started my educational career tutoring students in 2001. As my business grew and I traveled from household to household tutoring students of all ages, I discovered a trend. There was always stress and strife among parents and their children when it came to homework and studying. So I asked myself, what is the problem and how can I fix it? The truth is, most homes have homework stress. I envisioned solving that by creating a place where students can be dropped off and focus solely on completing their homework. From my experience, I knew that students do best when they are in a quiet environment conducive to learning, which is usually outside of their home. I worked long and hard to create the best way to achieve this.
The Student Den was born. In August of 2007, I opened the doors with great interest from local families, eager to find out how the Student Den can help them. Since then, we have increased our academic offerings and the Student Den has evolved to be a respected educational facility tailored to the needs of our students. I am hoping to create more success stories and look forward to opening additional Student Den locations in the future.
On a personal note, I am a proud dad of two wonderful daughters. My oldest just started kindergarten and my youngest started pre-school. I have the good fortune to work with children all day and watch my children start their down their educational path. It gives me great joy to see my children and the children I work with grow into successful students.
